Your body image influences your self-esteem, social life, intimacy, mood, eating behavior, and overall quality of life. When you're not happy with your body, it can leave you feeling insecure and isolated. Not only that, but it can also disrupt your eating patterns and mess with your mood. That's why it's important to make a conscious effort to nurture a positive body image.
During the assessment session, your assessor will inquire about your medical history, eating habits, emotional well-being, and past treatment experiences.
This helps the treatment team develop a personalized plan based on your specific needs, symptoms, and goals. Diagnoses are made using the criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).
During sessions 1 to 6, you will have 6 weekly sessions with your assigned therapist, focusing on implementing the chosen treatment modalities and working towards your recovery goals. Additionally, if necessary, 2 sessions of the 6 sessions maybe be with an assigned nutritionist who will help you create a balanced meal plan.
In the final session of the program, you will have a check-in with Dr. Sally Moore, who oversees your treatment.
This session is an opportunity to review your progress, discuss challenges and successes, and address any remaining concerns. Dr. Moore will provide feedback, offer guidance for your ongoing recovery, and make recommendations for further treatment if necessary.
Session details may vary, and the program outlined is a general overview that can be adapted to your specific needs.
