I am a Lecturer of Psychiatry in the Psychiatry Department at Kasr Alainy, Cairo University, and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, UK. I've been practicing since 2013 in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy; I have come across many different types of patients with a wide range of issues to address.
I have learned to accept and understand the root of my patients' grievances, no matter how difficult it may feel or sound to tackle the problem once and for all. I am trained to use different types of therapy, which include working on emotions, cognition, perception, dealing with the past, and living with the present; I have learned to be flexible in using different modalities at differing moments throughout the therapeutic process.
My main concern is to support my patients in moving forward and feeling better. Though some patients require medication, I believe almost all clients need Psychotherapy. It is important for my practice only to prescribe medication when it has been established that the client truly needs it. When done right, I believe that Psychotherapy guides clients in becoming better versions of themselves and that meaningful change can occur through understanding core beliefs and how they affect aspects of our lives.
